Undo changes

Safety Net groups changes into change sets: everything one person, automation rule or app changed in one burst. A pause of more than 3 minutes (configurable) starts a new set.

Find the change set

Open Undo changes. By default you see mass changes (5 or more work items) from the last 24 hours. Switch the period to 7 or 30 days, or turn on Show small changes to see every set.

Review before anything changes

Choose Review & undo. The preview lists every field on every work item with its current value and the value it will go back to:

StatusMeaning
Will restoreThe value goes back to what it was before the change set.
Changed sinceSomeone edited this field after the change set. By default it’s left as it is.
Restore (text only)Rich text that Safety Net only has as plain text; formatting may be simplified.
Already restoredThe value is already back.
Can’t restoreSee what can’t be restored.

Later edits

Choose Keep edits people made afterwards (recommended) to only restore fields that still have the value the change set left. Choose Restore everything to overwrite later edits too.

Run the undo

Confirm, and the undo runs in the background. Watch progress on the page or later under Activity, which lists each work item with what was restored and anything that needs a look.

Field changes, status (through your workflow’s transitions), sprint, deleted comments and work logs, and added or removed links are all reversed.

Undo an undo

Safety Net’s own changes appear as their own change set, labelled Safety Net. Undo it like any other.
