What can’t be restored

  • Anything before installation. Safety Net can only restore what it recorded.
  • Deleted files. Attachments aren’t copied, to keep your data small. Their names are listed.
  • Rank (board order), work type and project moves. These need Jira’s move wizard.
  • Original keys and dates. Restored work items get a new key and creation date; the old key and original authors and dates are noted.
  • Statuses without a direct transition. If your workflow has no transition from the current status to the old one, Safety Net reports it so you can move it manually.
  • Closed sprints. Jira doesn’t allow adding work to a closed sprint.
  • Fields no longer on your screens or values that no longer exist (for example a deleted option). They are reported for each work item.
