This policy explains how Synexco Digital, a sole proprietorship registered in Malaysia (Business Registration No. 202603052366 / SA0649630-T) (“Synexco Digital”, “we”) handles personal data for the Safety Net for Jira app (“Safety Net”) and this website. Contact: enquiry@synexcodigital.com.

Summary

  • Safety Net runs entirely on Atlassian’s Forge platform. The data it stores stays in your Jira site’s Atlassian storage, in your data residency region. We have no servers and no copy of it.
  • For the data Safety Net processes in your Jira site, your organisation is the controller and we act as processor (see the Data Processing Addendum). Atlassian provides the infrastructure.
  • This website uses no cookies, no analytics and no tracking.

1. Data Safety Net processes in your Jira site

Safety Net stores people only as Atlassian account ids — no names, email addresses or avatars; names are looked up in Jira when shown. The text of deleted comments is shown only to their author and the project’s administrators, who can also erase recorded changes. This data is processed on your organisation’s instructions to provide the app (GDPR Art. 6(1)(b)/(f) for your organisation as controller; we process it under Art. 28).

We do not access, sell or use this data for any other purpose. Our code processes it automatically inside Atlassian’s platform; our application logs contain technical identifiers and counts, not work item content.

When a user’s Atlassian account is closed, Atlassian tells Safety Net through its personal data reporting service and Safety Net removes that account id from everything it stores, including mentions in stored comments. When Safety Net is uninstalled, Atlassian deletes all of its stored data for your site.

2. Data we receive as the vendor

  • Atlassian Marketplace: Atlassian shares licence details and, where applicable, technical and billing contact details of the customer with us. We use them to provide the service, support and important service notices (legitimate interest; contract).
  • Support: if you email us, we process your message and contact details to help you, and keep the conversation for up to 3 years.

3. This website

The website is static and has no cookies, analytics or third-party scripts. It is delivered by Cloudflare, which processes visitors’ IP addresses for delivery and security under its own terms.

4. Sharing and processors

Atlassian (Forge platform hosting and Marketplace billing), Cloudflare (website delivery) and our email provider (support email). We do not sell personal data and do not use it for advertising.

5. International transfers

Data stored by Safety Net stays in Atlassian’s infrastructure in your site’s region. Support email and Marketplace contact data may be processed in Malaysia, where Synexco Digital operates, and by our providers. Where required, transfers are protected by the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses.

6. Your rights

Depending on where you live (for example under the EU/UK GDPR or Malaysia’s Personal Data Protection Act 2010) you may have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to processing of your data, and to data portability. For data inside a Jira site, contact that site’s administrators first — they control it and can delete it in Jira or by uninstalling Safety Net; we will help them. For other data, email enquiry@synexcodigital.com. You may also complain to your data protection authority.

7. Security

See Security for how Safety Net protects data.

8. Changes

We will post changes here and update the date above. Material changes are announced in the app’s changelog.
